Outdoor bee removal

Swarming is natural bee behavior that occurs when a colony grows too big for their hive and becomes overcrowded.

Typically seen in spring, swarms can also occur in early summer or even autumn.

When bees swarm, about half the hive leaves with the old queen. The other half stays to raise a new queen. The swarm will travel some distance before settling in a tree, shrub, or on a structure with the workers surrounding the queen.

Scouts will fly away to look for a suitable new home. A swarm might stay in one location for an hour, or several days.

Fortunately, because the bees aren’t actively defending a hive, they’re much more docile than normal.
